Airtel
I'm an Airtel customer. A big fan of Airtel. and a proud owner of my sim card since back in 2002, when Airtel was called BLAH BLAH. In the past years, I enjoyed using it. The voice quality was great, the network coverage was excellent. until three years ago, when I moved to the field. I found out Airtel wasn't all that. I the big city, yeah it's fine. but outside Dar, eiiish.. you wish you could grievously harm your phone on a brick wall, or choke the customer service clerk through the phone.
Until recently when I moved back to Dar I realised Airtel problems didn't end outside Dar. Especially with the blackberry services. I tell you (Nigerian accent) Airtel is all talk, no walk. Its the most expensive of all networks to register the blackberry services with, the one that gives me a lot of problem during my registration. and most of all the 3G services are worse than CRAP. I hope Airtel people get to read this... from the bottom of my heart i sincerely wouldn't recommend it. but at the same time, I'd never throw away my number because of just a few minor setbacks. Airtel is still the best. *two thumbs up*
Vodacom
My relationship with Vodacom, is one that I'm proud of. My one and only trustee cellular network. As a back up, it functions magnificently. Yes reliable, and never once have I had the need to call their customer service to complain about something. The moment I get another Blackberry, Vodacom will be my service provider. I know its cheaper, and according to people I know, they never get cut off they way we (I) suffer with Airtel. This is the kind of network I can recommend for people, but myself would never bother to use.
Zantel
Did someone spell C-H-E-A-P or Zantel?? Who said TiGo was cheap?? Zantel is the network you should think of in the time of recession. Not only is it reliable, its also super cheap for both local and international phone calls. I remember I once resorted to using this network to make overseas phone calls, and boy oh boy I got hooked like a cocaine addict. Sad thing, my phone got messed up, and the number died with the phone. Backed by the Arab network etisalat, Zantel is the next big thing... One day my dear Zantel, just one day we will be together again...
TiGo
So its a network for student... and cheap... very cheap if you know what i mean. plus on the flip side, its tanzania's best brand name joke of all time. The subliminal is just a killer in the streets.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
