Monday 20th February, 2012, Dar Es
Salaam. Marketing Initiatives Limited (MIL) announces plans for Tanzania Marketing Communication Conference
- TMCC 2012.
In
the drive to evolve an intellectual platform for Marketing and Communication
professionals in Tanzania to network, share ideas and learn from others both
within and outside Tanzania, Marketing Initiatives Limited comes out with the
roll-out plan for TMCC 2012. Ikechukwu Kalu and Rodgers Mbaga, both directors
in MIL spoke to the press on the details of TMCC for 2012 on recently.
Talking
about TMCC 2012, Mr Kalu said, ‘We are in the knowledge age and ‘knowledge is
power’. We need to constantly review, update and reassess our competences to
ensure we remain competitive across the globe. We started this movement last
year with Tanzania Marketing Communication Conference - TMCC 2011. It was well
attended and active interaction has continued amongst participants who are
professionals in the field of Marketing, Advertising, PR and Communications. We
promised at the beginning, the conference would an annual event. We will keep
to our promise by having this year's conference in September 2012’.
Mr.
Mbaga, also speaking on the plan added 'We do recognize that there aren’t many
opportunities for Marketing and Communication professionals to network and
update their knowledge of best practices in their industries, hence the need
for regular programs'. To fill this gap, Marketing Initiatives Limited will
organize seminars / workshops quarterly in addition to the annual conference.
Giving
further elaboration on the plan for the year, Mr. Kalu, confirmed September as
the conference month and threw some more light on the seminars / workshops leading to the conference: -
·

Mr.
Mbaga said that the theme for 2012 is "Marketing and Marketing
Communication in a Developing World". This theme will run through all the
initiatives for 2012 thus enabling us to explore the different ramifications of
Marketing and Communication in a developing world.
Kalu
further stated that the success of TMCC 2011 was largely due the involvement of
participants and sponsors in the details of the conference. We will continue in
the same vein this year. We would like to sincerely thank our sponsors for the
TMCC 2011; The Citizen, Clouds Entertainment, Ndovu Special Malt, Vodacom,
Aggrey & Clifford and UTT for believing in us enough to support a maiden
edition. We hope you will extend same and even more support to us this year.
To
all those who participated in TMCC 2011, we thank and want to assure you that
it will be bigger and better this year.
